Every celebration is incomplete without sumptuous food and lip-smacking snacks, and to serve guests, we need plenty of cutleries. Single-use plastic has been banned in India since July 2022, and we need alternatives for it. Narayana Peesapaty, the Bakeys founder, built the alternative a decade ago.
What is Edible Cutlery?
You can eat edible Cutlery after using it for dining purposes. Yes, save some space in your stomach to eat Cutlery too. Edible Cutlery is made up of grains such as Jowar, Rice.

Story of Bakeys, edible Cutlery:
Narayana Peesapaty started Bakeys when he started working towards the environment with a positive perspective. He started looking for a solution, noticed the water depletion levels, and looked for the root of the problem. He then analyzed rice crop takes plenty of water for irrigation and its consequences. And one more incident made him look for an alternative solution for plastic. In one event, he was served a stained plastic spoon and looked at the plastic waste that toppled before him. With his agricultural experience, he started Bakeys.

Peesapathy Sir shared that the mindset of saving the environment is essential, and society needs to be adaptive. Change can be difficult, but certainly a need for time.

Plastic cultery specially the use and throw ones are such a menace to the environment. This is a good way to reduce some amount of plastic usage. I haven't used any edible cutlery so far, bt this defenitely looks quite interesting. I will give them a try.
