Teach your child artistic expression and true flair with Calligraphy classes

If you’ve been seeking fun, invigorating and engaging online hobby classes for your little ones, calligraphy for beginners could be an option. The art of lettering as Calligraphy is often called, has gazillions of benefits to offer to children and basically everyone! The term came from Kalli or beautiful and Graphia or writing which are both Greek terms. It is not just about beautiful Calligraphy fonts or Calligraphy writing. Participating in an activity of this nature has a lot to do with the pursuit of artistic excellence, expression and achieving a state of true expressionistic flair in a manner of speaking!

Not only will your children learn the fine art of calligraphy lettering but they will also improve their handwriting and be able to use beautiful letters and fonts right from a young age onwards, further stimulating their own creativity and powers of expression alike. Here are some of the key advantages of teaching calligraphy to kids:

Therapeutic nature- Calligraphy art is not just about learning a new and engaging activity; in these stressful times, it is also about ushering in more therapeutic value into your child’s life. Unknowingly and blissfully, he/she will be able to relax both body and mind with every stroke that goes into creating beautiful calligraphy letters. It is almost meditative in that sense!

Motor skill development & better memory- Learning calligraphy a to z means knowing how to use pens for creating each and every stroke and that too with minute attention to detail. This activates the brain’s motor areas including the basal ganglia, cerebral cortex and cerebellum. It also engages the brain’s language aspect while children retain spellings better for words they write out by hand.

Enhances creative expression- Learning calligraphy online is a great way to stimulate creativity and artistic expression. Studies indicate that we’re most creative when we’re making use of our hands. Why should it be any different for your kids?

Builds critical thinking powers- The act of writing is something that stimulates logical or critical thinking, a good trait to build in children from a young age. Kids who learn calligraphy will subconsciously be more attuned towards harnessing logical thinking in their day to day lives, especially for finding solutions to problems.

Better social connections- Calligraphy drawing lessons are the window to a more social world for your little ones. They will love being part of a vibrant and artistic group of peers whom they can build social connections with.
