Pollution is what we are hearing everywhere and
kids are most affected by this. It is taking toll on their routine outdoor
activities. The feelings of little musketeers are expressed below in poetic
form that encapsulates #BachonKiMannKiBaat. It is very painful to see your
children and their friends in tears when Children’s Day was declared a holiday
in schools of Delhi-NCR due to alarming levels of air pollution. Though
children forget things easily, this pollution is leaving a permanent mark in
their lives. We all need to strive for better future for our children with
effective measures.
Oh!
Pollution you have been voted number one
No, not in our favorites but in list of hated
ones
you have taken away bundled stuff from us
be it outdoor plays or celebrations, all in a
complete mess.
Oh! Pollution, We now face extra cautious
parents more
their instructions and care has grown fourfold
in chore.
Small joys of life are now at stake,
even water is checked twice before we take.
Oh! Pollution, areas are marked even for our
play
Essay topics are now revolving where you stay.
No more fresh and aromatic air to breathe
don’t like the mask, that hides real me.
Oh Pollution, Go away from our lives,
we promise to be responsible and strive
for healthier and eco friendly ways
just leave us, don’t return until childhood
remains.
Let us all strive for efforts to cope up with Pollution and give our children a world where they can roam without masks.

ReplyDeleteYour poetic way of expressing your feelings and the whole situation is unique. We must do something to decrease the polution levels, only relying on government will be wrong.
ReplyDeletethe current situation of air pollution in Delhi is heart breaking. if we cant even provide our kids fresh air to breath freely, what are we even doing! imagine if everyone has to wear a mask all day or carry oxygen along in a few years from now.

ReplyDeleteI live in Delhi NCR and now as the world knows we are facing terrible spurt in pollution. I agree that it can have disastrously effect on kids. But what are we adults doing to prevent it, that is a big question.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading about Delhi pollution I literally had sleepless nights thinking Kerala would be the next. Seriously. When will people learn to respect the environment?
ReplyDeleteIt is saddening to see pollution taking over our lives and health. I have planted so many air purifying plants in the house for this reason. I don't know what will our future generations see or breathe on this planet!
ReplyDeleteThis poem reminds of visuals and air quality index when I was driving this morning. And even after all this people has burst crackers without any hesitation. And if you say something about it then they have attached communal agendas around it. I think this poem is a best way to address it.
