Today, we have an anthology book to review,
which is titled ‘UNREAD’, 100 stories or poetries bundled up in a book summed
up by Platform for Artists. Thanks Blogchatter for sending us the copy of this
book, this review comes under Book Review Program of Blogchatter. Let’s see in
detail whether this book held our attention or not.
About
The Book:
Unread is a culmination of myriad
author works in the form of poems and short stories which comprises 100
different emotions put together to present the readers a complete set of bouquet
of emotions by Platform for Artists.
The poems or stories are very crisp and
short each covering a single page. The title Unread portrays that the
collection is not published anywhere else before being a part of this book and
many of them are first time authors.
My
Inputs:
'Hope Hawker' by Ayush Chhabra is inspiring from the entire lot of and 'Hero' by Sugandha Yadav showcases how a real hero should be and poem with title 'Uncordinated Cordinates' is my favourite.
The last page of the book is left empty for the reader to jot down what he or she wants to pen or think should have been a part of this book. This gives a reader to feel of being a writer and then book completes its 100 untold stories.
Though it is a great way for the authors to become a published writer but still this book misses out on few points.
The collection of poems and stories are
just randomly arranged not maintaining any theme. While we navigate from one
poem to another the reader tends to forget the subject of the previous
one.
Most author works lacks the real
essence and fails to maintain the readers interest.
It
could have been better if the publication could have come up with two different
sets of books one Hindi collection and the other in English else a reader is
ought to be a bilingual person.
This collection could have been more beautiful if it could have segregated section for love, relationship, muse, poetry, short stories.

can be a one time read for those who want some random thoughts to linger on.

That's such an honest review and I do get what you mean. Arranging pieces according to themes makes a book more coherent.
ReplyDeleteYes, as the pace was going in the book with one theme and abruptly comes another that puts the reader off
DeleteI really like the fact that you had shared your honest input. you had suggested both good options, of separating english and hindi sets of books and putting the pieces according to theme.
ReplyDeleteThanks Surbhi
DeleteThanks for sharing this completely honest review. I do find it annoying when books don't maintain a theme. I'll avoid this one!

Yes, people with perfectionist as virtue may find it annoying.
DeleteI really love your honest review. It really be great if the author has made a theme for book
ReplyDeleteYes, and especially an anthology. If it comes with a theme then it makes a click with the readers
DeleteI really liked the way you have reviewed the book with complete honesty, it's crisp and to the point. It will help the reader in making the right decision whether to buy the book or not.
ReplyDeleteThis is something new and great leaving the last page for the readers. Thanks for the honest review
ReplyDeleteI love to read stories and poems and here is the combo of these two and there is no theme so the freshness of the content will retain. Great review. I will check.
ReplyDeleteI have read this collection of poems and only point I disliked was mix of 2 languages in one book. There might not be many readers who would appreciate Hindi and English language poems together. I did like my reading experience.
ReplyDeleteI just love your honest review on this .. A book should maintain a particular theme to look more professional kind.. I will skip this..
ReplyDeleteThis is a very honest review. I hope the publishers take a cue from your feedback and be careful in future
ReplyDeleteThat's quite an honest review. Short stories and Poems sometime slack a theme but still there are wonderful ways to combine them and present in a form of book. I will check the book once for sure.
ReplyDeleteI have also read this book and the best part is the variety, of language, type of writing and expressions. Nice review.
ReplyDeleteI like your honest review. Looks like this is a good anthology for a light read. like that it has a theme in it.
