Unsaid Understanding - #ShortStory

Hey Anu, I think we can have Chinese for dinner, Mohit scrolled to the menu in his one of the food app.

Anu came from kitchen and served him South Indian delicacy, as though Mohit's words were unheard to her. The other day Mohit left for office early, in the evening Mohit called up and said he has an urgent meeting and will be late. Mohit returned from office the next day morning feeling sleepy and tired. He was a surprised to see the locked door.

Quickly he could find another pair in his laptop bag and barged into the house. He called Anu on her number but it was of no
use as she left it on the dining table. Mohit called her friends but she was nowhere. Then he called Neeta who lived beside their house but he got a no in reply. It was almost 3 hours and no signs of Anu anywhere. Mohit just couldn't know what to do where to go. He remembered Anu was a bit quiet these days and due to his hectic schedule they did not get much time to talk and tried to recall what Anu said to her last; but failed to remember. Mohit's negative thoughts started to hover his mind. "Anu cannot leave me" he screamed.
“What happened Mohit...are you dreaming”,  Anu questioned him casually.

He hugged Anu tightly and told her about his dream and said "I love you my darling, it's just that new project is taking time to get in shape".

To which Anu replied smilingly, "Silly why will I go, get in; looks like you dozed off after ringing the bell".

  1. Such a nice story. Communication is the key in every relation. We shouldn't let unsaid words and feelings hang over our heads and regret them later. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Sometimes unsaid words are the most important words. We don't feel the need to say them or sometimes we don't feel like giving it due attention.

  10. Our loved ones are the ones to keep us sane and grounded. Never fair to ignore them for work or the fear of them leaving will turn to reality.
