“Raghav,
you are selected as sports representative for the coming inter college sports
event”, an announcement that shook Samrat.
“How
can they do this? I am a regular and passionate performer, just a minor accident can’t take away
my dream to be a sports representative of the college”, thought Samrat,
pacifying self and looking at Raghav in savage.
That
year Samrat did not participate in any event though questioned a lot by his
professors and coaches. He excused himself saying, “I am sick, and not fit to participate”,
much in irony.
Though
college received few trophies, this was surely not best year in sports area.
Raghav who was unknown to Samrat’s envy, very casually walked to him in a
library to have a chat with him where Samrat’s rude behavior made him think
what the matter was.
When
Raghav asked about it to Samrat’s friends, he came to know that Samrat
considered sports field as his home and considered Raghav as an intruder who
snatched away all his dreams.
Raghav
decided to bring back Samrat’s confidence as sports player for the next national sports meet. He
talked with the committee and respective authority for the changes, and all
agreed to Raghav’s suggestion. When news broke out to Samrat, that Raghav
suggested his name; he thought “how foolish I was who measured him as foe,
wherein reality a foe turned
friend for his life.”
Hugging
Raghav, Samrat whispered, “it’s nostalgic to
stand in the ground once again, with my new friend and we shall deliver electric performance to win all
events”
“Welcome
home Samrat”, Raghav gave him hi-fi.
@Sonal
A very good story of how envy and resentment can cloud our thinking. It is always better to talk things out. I am glad this story had a happy ending.
