One day where you can make fun and fool others, play pranks, set mischief plans, enjoy the amused expressions of others and most importantly you are not held guilty for all this when you say “April fool”.Yes 1st April is celebrated as fool’s day world over, where you celebrate thoughtlessness, silliness, madness in form of pranks. Even till date I make sure to cheer this day by doing something and by saying to believe in absurd stuff, though sometimes I end up get caught in others tricks; you need to be extra cautious as you could be others target in a plan. Most prominent factor to be kept in mind is that; this day you have to forget seriousness and rejoice to its maximum.
Celebrating silliness on April Fool's Day |
Though April fool’s Day is the day people make other fools, but few make fool of themselves unknowingly on rest of the days too. Mark Twain, Pudd'nhead Wilson quoted “April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four”. Fewer times people end up saying unwitting things, sometimes ignorant actions and writing can also make fall you in fool’ s category. These are most common ways people end up being in unconsciously.
Be careful with your speech: Few people, in order to get attention in a group conversation end up saying irrelevant stuff and make fool of themselves. It’s better to be quiet on a matter in which you don’t have much knowledge. Rather be observant and gain knowledge by others talk. There is saying in a Sanskrit which means half knowledge is dangerous than any sword. And Robin Sharma, very rightly said “Listen twice as you speak”, because God has given us double hearing capability (2 Ears) than speaking (1 Mouth).
Cautious with Actions: Any actions done in rapidity, without much thinking can land you in a big trouble most of the times. Primarily always measure your actions and consider the set of consequences that can be followed by doing it. Work executed in such manner does not give a fruitful result and you end up being held responsible for unwise actions.
Vigilant in your Writing: In the internet age, where people judge you by your likes and comments, you need to be extra careful, what do you write. A single comment on a particular topic written in haste can make a huge difference the way people think of you. Your image is in your hands, so be very apt and in your writing, and make sure that words written are what you wanted to express. William Shakespeare famously said, "Better a witty fool than a foolish wit."
Finally I would only say that there are ways to be more thoughtful, meaningful and to express one’s views intelligently. So be watchful in whatever you do, as your deed in present decides your future. And this April Fool’s Day(All Fool’s Day) if you are playing pranks on others; make sure you play harmless ones and in a right sense. Despite the fact that this all is being done for fun, you can hurt someone’s feeling unintentionally. And by chance you are tricked take it sportingly and remind yourself with this quote “Whenever you fall, pick something up” by Oswald Avery. So I would advice play safe and let us know through your comments by which mischief you were most amazed on Fool’s day.
“Mix a little foolishness with your prudence: It's good to be silly at the right moment.” – Horace
